Athens Twin or Multi Centre Breaks

Athens is a perfect destination for combining with an island in a twin, or multi centre holiday. Its port Piraeus, barely half an hour from the centre, has excellent ferry and hydrofoil connections with most of its islands, plus the good choice of internal flights, lasting no more than one hour, is a great choice for those with less time at their disposal.

One of the island groups which combines effortlessly with Athens is the Saronic Islands - Aegina, Poros and Hydra. The closest island in the group, Aegina, lies half an hour from the mainland so you can leave the bustle of Athens behind very quickly.

Fancy some island hopping? Then combining Athens and the Cyclades might be an idea. Mykonos has a beautiful, picture-postcard town, windmills, good beaches and a sophisticated and very lively nightlife; Paros has old villages, fishing harbours and some good nightlife also; Santorini with its sheer cliffs and stunning views, where your camera will be working overtime!
