Villa Avra is a beautiful big family house, generously built in solid stone with terracotta tiled roofs, and wooden shutters. The well established gardens are abundant with flowers and shrubs, and the 40sqm circular pool with surrounding sun terraces, is set within ample lawns to the front of the house. The villa is situated approx 3 km from the coastal village of Georgioupolis, with the nearest sand and shingle beach around 500 metres away.

Villa Avra, with its four spacious bedrooms is suitable for up to 9 people. The front entrance is approached via a stone arched covered terrace. Off to one side of this is a lovely vine covered pergola and a BBQ. On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan living room with high beamed ceilings, a stone fireplace, traditional Cretan sofas and a Stereo system and TV. The living area opens onto a large well-equipped family kitchen and dining area. Further on the ground floor there is a shower/WC with a washing machine, and a bedroom with double bed and a cot.

A wooden open staircase leads to the upper floor where there are a further three bedrooms. One bedroom has three single beds, en-suite with a bathtub/shower fitment/WC. The other two bedrooms have twin beds and share a bathroom with bathtub/shower fitment and WC. Each bedroom has its own balcony with patio furniture, offering views of the mountains or the sea. There are standing fans available for the bedrooms.

The nearest supermarket, petrol station and tavernas are in the nearby vicinity of Kavros, approx 1 km away. A larger variety of shops and tavernas can be found in Georgioupolis. It is worth visiting Lake Kournas, the only fresh water lake on Crete, which is also close by (2 km away). The large bustling town of Rethymnon, with its historic Venetian and Turkish old quarter, is approx 20 km away.
