This delightful, detached modern villa is peacefully positioned, close to the sea, in the small village of Rapaniana, about 25 km west of Chania. To the rear of the villa there is a private swimming pool of approx. 35sqm. A short walk of about 350 metres, down a little track, leads you to the long shingle beach.  

Villa Tamarisk is made up of two apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, which together accommodate between 8-10 people. There are four bedrooms, two with a double bed and two with twin beds. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor with a separate entrance, and are connected to the first floor apartment of the villa via the outside stone stairway. All of the bedrooms have mosquito nets on French doors and balconies or patios overlooking the pretty gardens.

Each apartment has a spacious open plan living/dining area with a large, well-equipped kitchenette with breakfast bar, full cooker and a fridge freezer, as well as a coffee machine; there is a dining table, a seating area with a sofa bed, which can be used as an extra bed, a large open fireplace and a desk, CD and tape deck, and a TV with video recorder. There is a shower/WC off the living area and a second, larger bathroom with bathtub and washing machine. The villa has air-conditioning (included), and central heating (at an extra charge) for cooler spells. Further equipment includes an ironing board with iron.

There is a very spacious roofed terrace with outdoor dining table and bamboo patio furniture. In front of the house there is a large BBQ with a handcrafted wooden seating area. Further facilities include a basketball court, an outside shower and a garage to the rear of the house.

Within 500 metres one can find a snack bar, a taverna, a mini-market and a bus stop with a regular bus service to the village of Kolimbari, about 2 km away, which has a large supermarket, cafes, and a choice of fish restaurants and tavernas along the beach. Car hire is recommended.
