Set back from the beautiful beach, 500 metres away, and 2 km to the east of Plakias village, these apartments are in a quiet area surrounded by a vividly lush garden with lots of palm trees. The grounds are 4000 sqm in size, with garden tables and chairs under shady pergolas. There is a large lawn at the back of the property supplied with sun beds, and to one side, swings and a climbing frame for children. The hospitable owner, provides a well equipped gym and table tennis for the use of guests, and also runs a local taverna, which serves traditional Cretan dishes. The attractive reception area to Socrates apartments offers a large lounge, bar, a reception, a TV and VCR and plenty of comfortable seating. Guests have a choice of three types of accommodation, which are very well maintained, and comfortably furnished in rustic style.

A: Five small rooms, about 20 sqm, for 2 people. They have twin beds or a double bed, shower/wc and either a balcony or terrace with a view of the gardens.

B: Seven studios, about 20 sqm, on the ground floor, which are for 2 people. They have twin beds, kitchenette, shower/wc and a large terrace within the garden grounds.

C1: Four apartments, about 22 sqm, for 2-4 people, with one bedroom with a double bed, open plan sleeping/kitchen area with bunk beds for children and kitchenette, shower/wc, and a veranda, which can be used as a dining area, with garden view. Two apartments are on the ground floor and the other two are on the first floor.

C2: Five apartments, about 30 sqm, for 2-4 people, with one bedroom with a double bed, open plan sleeping/kitchen area with bunk beds for children and kitchenette, shower/wc, and a veranda, which can be used as a dining area, with garden view. One apartment is on the ground floor and the other four are on the first floor.

There are a couple of tavernas on the beach but the nearest shops are in Plakias. A car is recommended.
