Around 27 km south of Rethymno, lies the peaceful rural village of Mariou. This is an ideal setting for nature lovers and keen walkers, wishing to explore the unspoilt countryside. It is also a good position from which to visit the magnificent monastery at Preveli. Vorres House is located 4 km from the village of Assomatos and 3 km from Plakias. The friendly owner occupies the first floor apartment of the house. The ground floor apartment is suitable for up to 8 people and comprises of four bedrooms, two with double beds and two with twin beds. There are four shower/WCs, three of which are ensuite, a kitchen with dining room and two roofed balconies both with panoramic views over the mountains and the sea. Te garden is enclosed making it ideal for families. The nearest beach is at Plakias where a wide selection of tavernas and shops can be found and of course simple provisions can be purchased in the village of Assomatos. A car is essential.
