White Christmas - 2010

Spending Christmas in Lapland, deep inside the Arctic Circle, will provide all the members of your family with special memories they will treasure for ever. Christmas in Lapland will be filled with activities to keep your children enthralled throughout this very special time of year, not least setting out in search of the grand old man himself, because while Christmas Eve is the busiest day in the year for Santa, by Christmas Day he is back from his round-the-world journey, and he will be happy to say hello to any children who have made the long journey to his kingdom to visit him.

December 23rd

After a festive flight you land in Enontekio in Finland and are guided to your coach for the 15 minute journey to Hetta. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!

Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and you stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!

After checking in at your chosen hoteli, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break and during a welcome dinner your rep will be available to answer any further questions. This evening you can join one of the optional activities.

Christmas Eve

After breakfast, you will head out on your first safari, either a thrilling 40-minute Husky Experience or an exhilarating 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming buffet lunch at the hotel. Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges available upon payment of a deposit. Alternatively you might like to join the indoor craft activities or try one of the optional excursions. This evening join a walk to the local church. After a short welcome by the vicar and carol singing, you return to your hotel for dinner.

Christmas Day

After breakfast, you head outside for Supervised Snow Fun, a day of supervised activities that include a Snowshoe Trek, Snowball Throwing Contest, Tandem Skis, Children's Skis, Snowman Building, Tug-of-War, Snow Hockey, and lots more! In addition, there will be a supervised kids' snowmobile ride. Activities are available throughout the day. A hot lunch will be provided.

Then the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift. After a special Christmas dinner relax or join one of the optional evening excursions.

Boxing Day

You'll experience your second safari after breakfast, either the Husky Experience or Snowmobile Adventure. After lunch at the hotel the afternoon is free to relax or to enjoy family fun in the snow. After dinner relax or join an excursion.
