Activity code: ATH01

Duration: Morning tour

This popular tour gives you an excellent overview of the capital city of Greece. Your guide will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 - there will be a short stop here.

Pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma).

Next it's up to the Acropolis where you will visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athenian Nike, the Erechteion and finally the iconic Parthenon.

The new Acropolis Museum is located on the road that led up to this "sacred rock" in classical times. It houses every artifact found on the rock and beneath, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. A walk through its galleries is a walk through history.
