For Auld Lang Syne
Another year begins and it's a time of celebration, renewal and excited expectation. So why not celebrate it deep inside the Arctic Circle, where the magic of Father Christmas's special season still holds sway? After celebrating the arrival of the New Year in style, you will be able to venture out into the majestic snowscapes of this Arctic wilderness to enjoy a wide range of snow activities before setting out in search of the grand old man himself. Above all, your New Year short break will be a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality family time together in the exhilarating surrounds of this magnificent winter wonderland.
Your flight departs in the morning and at Enontekio you are guided to your coach. The journey to Hetta takes around 10-15 minutes. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!
Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and we stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!
After checking into your chosen accommodation, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break and during a welcome dinner your rep will answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join one of the optional activities, such as a snowmobile night safari perhaps hoping to encounter the Northern Lights.
After breakfast, you head outside for your supervised Snow Fun. This is a day of activities which include a Snowshoe Trek (like walking on tennis racquets!), Snowball Throwing Contest, Tandem Skis (two people on one pair of skis), Children's Skis, Snowman Building, Tug-of-War, Snow Hockey, and lots more! In addition, there will be a supervised kids' snowmobile ride. A hot lunch will be provided.
Then, the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his log cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift.
This evening enjoy a New Year celebration at your hotel.
After breakfast, you enjoy your first included safari, either a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming buffet lunch at the hotel.
Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges available upon payment of a deposit. Alternatively you might opt to join the indoor craft activities. This evening enjoy a walk to the local church. After a short welcome by the vicar and carols return to your hotel for dinner. Laterwhy not join an optional night safari?
Check out after breakfast, before joining your last included safari, a 40-minute Husky Experience or a 1.5-hour Snowmobile Adventure, whichever you did not join previously. There should be time for one final play in the snow or to join one of the optional excursions. After a hot lunch, depart for Enontekio and your flight home.
