Another year begins and it's a time of celebration, renewal and excited expectation. So why not celebrate it deep inside the Arctic Circle, where the magic of Father Christmas's special season still holds sway? After celebrating the arrival of the New Year in style, you will be able to venture out into the majestic snowscapes of this Arctic wilderness to enjoy a wide range of snow activities before setting out in search of the grand old man himself. Above all, your New Year short break will be a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality family time together in the exhilarating surrounds of this magnificent winter wonderland. Here is a typical itinerary:
After you land in Enontekio in Finland you are guided to your coach. The journey to Hetta takes around 15 minutes. Watch out for reindeer in the woods!
Temperatures here can fall to -35C in December and you stop to collect your all-in-one thermal suits and boots, an essential part of your holiday package. Hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary, so remember to pack some for everyone!
After checking in at your chosen accommodation, your Transun rep hosts a welcome meeting, giving you all the information needed to get the most from your break. After dinner you can join one of the optional activities.
New Year's EveAfter breakfast, you enjoy your first included safari - the Snowmobile Adventure, followed by a warming lunch. A supervised kids' snowmobile ride will be available.
Then, the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his log cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa and receives a small gift. This evening enjoy a New Year celebration at your hotel.
New Year's DayAfter breakfast, you enjoy your second included safari - a 40-minute Husky Experience followed by a warming lunch.
Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge, or there is plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or having a snowball fight! Alternatively you might opt to join the indoor craft activities. This evening enjoy a walk to the local church. After a short welcome by the vicar and carols return to your hotel for dinner. Later why not join an optional night safari?
January 2Check out after breakfast. There should be time for one final play in the snow or to join one of the optional excursions. After a hot lunch, depart for Enontekio and your flight home.
