The minimum reservation for our accommodation only service is 3 nights in total, although not necessarily at same property. Simply contact us by phone or email or complete one of our enquiry forms.

Prices - our prices are similar to or quite often cheaper than our internet competitors or booking directly and significantly cheaper than those producing expensive brochures whilst our service, knowledge and after sales care is second to none.

Security - Rediscover the World is a member of the TTA (T6816), we also hold our own ATOL bond (T7172). We therefore provide full financial security and assistance should any part of your holiday not happen entirely to plan. If you were to assemble your holiday yourself you may not have this sort of protection.
The Colours of the South starts out from Marrakech; this fantastic tour takes in the wonders of the south, including the Saharan outposts of Zagora, Merzouga and Erfoud plus the incredible Gorges on the Dades and Todra valleys. Visits also included to Ouarzazate and Taroudant. Small group tour (or private chauffeur-driven arangements), fully guided with a/c mini-bus, plenty of stops to take photographs and stretch legs en route.

             

Day 1   -  Arrival and transfer to hotel in Marrakech.

Dinner and overnight in Marrakech - meet English-speaking guide.

Day 2   Marrakech – Tichka Pass - Kasbah of Telouet - Ouarzazate

Drive over the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tickha and visits to the kasbahs at Telouet & Ait Ben Haddou before arriving at Ouarzazate, a former outpost of the French Foreign Legion and the gateway to the south.

Day 3   Ouarzazate to Zagora

Continue south down the dramatic Draa Valley to Zagora for lunch (this is where you will find the famous signpost informing you that Timbuktou is just 52 days by camel). In the afternoon visit the incredible Koranic museum in Tamegroute where there are ancient texts on all subjects as well as the Koran, written on strips of vellum in the mosque. Discover the world of the villages and palm groves of the Draa.

Day 4   Zagora – Alnif – Erfoud

Skirting at the northern edge of the Sahara, we head east along the great southern road for Erfoud, the last town before the desert; en route we stop for lunch in Alnif. Dinner and overnight in Erfoud.

(Optional excursion at sunrise or sunset to the Merzouga Dunes, the highest dunes in the Sahara  – bookable locally through your driver/guide, travel by 4WD).

Day 5   Erfoud to Tineghir

A relaxing morning (or sunrise visit to the dunes and a lazy breakfast). Return to the west along the Ziz Valley and then on to the massive gorge at Todra, where lunch is taken in the shade of the high cliffs. Opportunity to walk in the area afterwards.

Day 6   Tineghir to Ouarzazate

Continue our route to the west to visit the Dades Gorges for lunch and then, in the afternoon, we take the ‘Road of a thousand Kasbahs’ through Kelaa Mgouna and Skoura, with its famous oasis of Amerhidil. Arrival into Ouarzazate in plenty of time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 7  Ouarzazate to Taroudant

A morning tour of Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah Taourit, old home of the Glaoui family, then on to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This fantastic site is now protected by UNESCO and has been used as a backdrop in many films. We then take the road to Taliouine where lunch is served and on to Taroudant for dinner and overnight at the old palace of the Paschas - the starting point for the Gold Caravans. We will have a chance to visit the Medina before dinner.

Day 8 -  Taroudant to Agadir

Transfer to Agadir airport or your chosen resort hotel or onward destination, e.g. Essaouira, Marrakech.

All prices for the above tours are dependent on numbers travelling, generally a minimum four persons although tours can be arranged for two people at a supplement.
