Delectable Short Break to Lapland - 2008

For those who are seeking the opportunity to enjoy all that Lapland has to offer in a short time capsule, the one night Delectable Lapland is an ideal choice. It has a mixture of reindeers, huskies and snowmobiles plus the opportunity to meet the one and only Santa Claus.

Includes: Return flights to Rovaniemi, accommodation on full board, Search for Father Christmas, individual family meeting with Santa, gift allowance for children, reindeer and husky dog sleigh rides, snowmobile ride, snow games. Also includes transfers, thermal overalls AND boots as well as a short visit to Santa Park (theme park more suited to younger children).

Resort - Suomo - A totally non-commercialised setting deep in the Lappish fells about a 90 minute transfer from Rovaniemi. Accommodation will be in the recently built Arctic Circle Hotel, which offers family rooms suitable for up to 4 persons, or cabins.

Itinerary:

Day One:

It's time to go in Search of Santa as you fly from your chosen airport directly to Rovaniemi. Breakfast will be served during the flight and where possible aircraft with on board video entertainment will be provided. Following your arrival in Lapland you will transfer to the resort of Suomu where accommodation will be provided in cabins or rooms according to your choice. Late afternoon and early evening, following the issue of your warm overclothing and boots to protect you from the cold, join in some simple snow games, like tobogganing, tug of war and snowmobiling. A buffet style dinner will be provided for all with additional children's favourites also on the menu.

Day Two:

Following a substantial breakfast it's now time to locate Santa Claus and you depart early morning by skidoo and sleigh directly from the hotel to a secret location where a host of activities awaits. Here one finds reindeers, huskies and the opportunity for snowmobiling plus other snow based activities and of course Father Christmas. Families will have the opportunity to meet the great man himself and discuss their Christmas wishes. Lunch will be taken back at Suomu. This afternoon you will return to Rovaniemi to visit Santa Park, a small theme park located underground close to the Arctic Circle shopping centre, where a selection of Lapland souvenirs may be purchased, prior to your return from the United Kingdom.

ACCOMMODATION - Hotel or log cabins

Cabins are ideal for families as they sleep between 4 and to 6 persons (there are a few which sleep up to 8 persons). Each is equipped with a private shower, sauna and wc and a romantic log fire (they are of course fully centrally heated as well!). Each cabin will have a small kitchen area and a warm air clothes drier. Linen and towels are provided.

Hotel rooms are also ideal for families up to 4 persons as they consist of two single beds and a double sofa bed. All rooms are equipped with power shower and wc, telephone and the latest entertainment hotel system with music and movies on demand. The hotel has a restaurant and bar as well as a sauna.
