Barbati is a small moutainside village in north-east Corfu. From here there are stunning views across to Corfu Town and the Albanian coastline and mountains.
The village is well served by tavernas, gift shops and a supermarket and the shingle beach is only a 10 minute stroll downhill. Over a kilometre long with crystal clear waters the beach is one of the prettiest on the east coast and is quite undeveloped, though you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas. You might like to rent a boat for a lazy day exploring hidden coves.
Nearby is Kalami where the authors Gerald and Lawrence Durrell lived for many years.
