Villa Nora

Hvar Town

About Villa Nora

The Villa Nora is a charming hotel situated in the middle of Hvar's old town. The hotel is surrounded by tiny streets favoured during the island’s history by artists and adventurers searching for their inspiration, it is framed by old palaces built in Gothic and Renaissance architecture. These surroundings and the charm of the hotel itself will allow you soak up the atmosphere of mediaeval Hvar. This 14th century palace was once the magnificent residence of the aristocratic Gazzari family. It has been completely restored as the elegant Hotel Villa Nora.

At the Villa Nora you can enjoy the mediaeval atmosphere of the old town. The most distinguished member of the Gazzari family was Marin Gazarovic, writer and composer of dramatic poems and lyrics, who was born in 1575 in the house which is today Villa Nora. In 2006 an inscription was placed on the outside wall of the palace to remember the street where the famous artist was born.
