About Villa Nora
The Villa Nora is a small hotel situated in the middle of Hvar old town, enclosed by the 14th century walls and fortifications towering above. The hotel is surrounded by tiny streets favoured during the island’s history by artists and adventurers searching for their inspiration, it is framed by old palaces built in gothic and renaissance architecture. These surroundings and the charm of the hotel itself will allow you feel the atmosphere of mediaeval Hvar. This ancient Palace, built in the XIV century, once the rich and magnificent residence of the aristocratic family Gazzari, has been completely restored as the elegant and refined Hotel Villa Nora.
At the Villa Nora you can enjoy the mediaeval atmosphere of the old town whilst relaxing in rooms furnished to a high-quality. The most distinguished member of the Gazzari family was Marin Gazarovic, writer and composer of dramatic poems and lyrics, who was born in 1575 in the house which is today Villa Nora. In 2006 an inscription was placed on the outside wall of the Palace to remember the street where the famous artist was born.
Accommodation: the Villa Nora offers very comfortable accommodation in 5 large junior suites (30 m² to 40 m²) and 4 superior rooms. Rooms are designed in traditional style but include many modern touches. Three of the Junior Suites have large balconies. The superior rooms have bedrooms with an area of around 20 m² (one of them has 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms and is ideally suited for families). All rooms feature queen size beds, and have old town view as well as air-conditioning, LCD satellite TV, Hair dryer, FREE Wi-Fi in room and 24hr room service.
Facilities: the restaurant Lucullus has been open in Hvar town from many years now and is justly famous for its typical dishes and high quality cuisine. For dinner you can try some traditional specialties of Hvar island: goat with potatoes cooked in a brick oven, cheese with capers and olive oil, Carpaccio of fish, soup of langoustine, Mussels and many more. The “imperator” (as they call him in Hvar) Antun Matkovic, prepares meals under his great cook's rule: “no food is good if the cook preparing does not use his fingers and his weight is not over a hundred kilos”.
"Villa Nora was outstanding in every respect. Lero was too big for us, and like any international hotel, with bored reception staff. This confirms our preference for boutique hotels. Private transfers worked like clockwork !"

"Thank you for organising a brilliant holiday for us. We returned half an hour early on Easy Jet yesterday. The 5 hotels were excellent, car parking worked well and we were bowled over by Croatia in general. It's a shame so much of Zadar is pst ww2, but what an excellent hotel! Luxe in Split was a great choice, modern, chic and well positioned. We loved Trogir. Hvar was the highlight, once we mastered the kerb at the car park which was a story in itself! The drive across Hvar was great fun and the mountain road is brand new. The ferry q was 4 hours .... After Mali Ston, it will be a while before I can eat more mussels and oysters, but what a great evening we had. We drove thru Bosnia, as we had eaten our day in the ferry q, which was not an issue at all. Dubrovnik was sensational and the Bellevue great. Nice people, great food, lift to the beach, great swimming, friendly taxis. So superior to Portugal and Spain and the wines were delicious. Even the red."

"Most hotels were excellent and in good locations, although a couple did not reach the standard of the rest. The holiday was excellent overall and we hope to repeat the experience in the north of Croatia at a later date."

"All arrangements and hotels were excellent. Everything ran smoothly. However, for the benefit of future clients please note that Hotel Derossi in Trogir and Hotel Tuttorosso in Rovinj do not have car parking facilities and public car parks have to be used - this cost 18 for the two nights at Derossi and 30 approx in Rovinj! Also, finding some of the hotels was something of a challenge - even though we had a sat nav in use. Perhaps some more detailed driving directions would be advantageous. Hotel Villa Nova in Hvar is in the complex of old alleyways and a car cannot get near it. We had to do a lot of asking to find it. Anyway, these are just my thoughts, the whole holiday was terrific, and thank you very much for organising it."

"We just wanted to thank you for arranging a wonderful trip for us to Croatia. We all had a great time, saw amazing sights and enjoyed excellent service and wonderful hospitality. The Croatian people are refreshingly warm and honest and they are blessed with a truly beautiful country. We will fill in your online questionnaire when we have a few minutes but wanted you to know how pleased we were with our trip."

"The visit to Plitvisc lakes and falls were absolutely spectacular. Driving on the open roads is simple and easy. Through the towns can a little more nerve raking. Having a couple of nights in each place helped keep the pace realistic. Be prepared for limited ability for laundry other than the hotel services. Having 3 nights in Trogir was a little more than needed and would have been better 3 nights based in or nearer to Split as this was where most sights were. Overall it was a very interesting experience and well worth it. Croatia is a beautiful country with plenty of natural sights. Being just before the tourist season had its benefits with things being less busy. Just a few times things were not yet open. Some wonderful memories, I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend."

"Thank you very much for helping us to enjoy a most memorable family holiday. We all enjoyed every bit of this trip and we will most definitely contact you again when planning our next trip. We were very happy with five of the six hotels we stayed in. Bad weather for three of the last four days of our trip restricted the number of activities we could do in Hvar and Dubrovnik, especially missing out on the green and blue grotto's around the island of Vis was quite disappointing for the children. Not having parking closer to Hotel Villa Nora in Hvar was a bit of an inconvenience, however the exceptional service we received from the host made up for that. Hotel accommodation close to the old town in Dubrovnik would have been preferred, especially due to the fact that we have already returned our rental car. In general we have had a great time in a very beautiful country with friendly people and all bookings and arrangements were without any issues. "

"Brilliant place, lovely people, great location, a class act. Nora was just up the alley from the main square and a pleasant stroll to the restaurants ; They have their own car park some distance from the hotel, but they will come out to pick up your bags and walk you back to the place which you would probably have difficulty finding on your own."

"The other hotels: Hotel Monika at Trogir was good with very helpful staff. Villa Nora at Hvar was very good as well and well placed. Hotel Ostrea at Mali Ston was less satisfactory. We were put up in their annexe, on the ground floor and the room was damp, attracting mosquitos. We were moved up to the first floor after complaining. Reception here was off hand. Hotel More outside Dubrovnik was very comfortable, and good service. The bus into town was easy. In hindsight we would have preferred to have had three nights in Hvar and two in Trogir as the beaches were much more attractive around Hvar."

"The ability to drive throughout the country, see what we wanted to see and the secure knowledge that we would have a decent hotel to stay each night. It was truly memorable, and we highly recommend this company to book your trip. You were willing to shorten it for us as we could only be away for 10 days not 14 days. You looked at what we wanted and the sights we wanted to visit."
