Some special items of the restaurant for example, are the "Ancient marinades" of oily and white fish served as a cold appetizer, seafood dishes (several types of mussels, shrimp, calamari and fresh white fish from the Adriatic), lamb and veal, steak combined with shrimp and all kinds of meat grilled on charcoal.
Background: the family was originally engaged in fishing and providing accommodation to travellers on an ad hoc basis but on the 12th of April 1990 the families of Vicko and Zoran Katic founded one of the first private hotels in Croatia, the Hotel Vicko, which is based on healthy and original food prepared with medicinal plants from Velebit.
The HACCP system was implemented in the restaurant in 2000 and the ISO 14001 system in the year 2008. The restaurant has throughout its history won numerous awards and was listed among the top 100 restaurants of Croatian in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011.
"Villa Vicko had the best restaurant of the holiday but a totally ineffective air con system so was very uncomfortable at night. Lovely location right by the sea though Visit to the quirky but very worthwhile Bear Sanctuary at Kuterevo also to be recommended"
