There is a restaurant next to the hotel with a wide offer of specialties. There are 4 more rooms on the restaurant's first floor plus 4 rooms in a house located next to the hotel (the annexe).
The hotel is situated in the midst of idyllic scenery which is a guarantee of relaxation and peace. If you are planning to visit the National Park Plitvice lakes and enjoy the charm of the countryside, Degenija Hotel is a perfect place to stay overnight. It is situated only 4 km from the gate of Plitvice lakes National Park. Baraćeve spilje (the Barać Caves) are only 10 km away and Rastoke, a village with water-mills in Slunj, is 20 km away.
Facilities: the offered specialties of the Degenija restaurant generally include meat, which is also characteristic of this area. The house specialties are fresh trout from Gacka and filled veal rolls in a mushroom sauce with home-made noodles. There is a terrace with a gorgeous panoramic vista of surrounding villages interspersed by lowlands and forest-covered hills. There are 60 seats on the terrace and 90 seats in an air-conditioned indoor part of the restaurant. Delicious food and a high-quality service in tranquil surroundings and invite you to come again.
"Diverse and rich a-la-carte menu: home-made cheese, Lika cheese (basa), domestic smoked ham (pršut) and hot sausage with paprika (kulen), various soups, grilled food, steak, turkey in gorgonzola, steak and various pasta. We also offer pizza baked in a bread oven and recommend our home-prepared plum brandy (šljivovica). In the winter period, ready-made meals are on the menu, such as Lika lunch, thick bean soup (grah) and pickled cabbage, goulash, sarma (cooked pickled cabbage stuffed with minced meat) etc. "
We also recommend a tour to the beautiful town of Bihać in neighbouring Bosnia Herzegovina (30 km). Plitvice lakes and Rakovica are great for active holidays: hire a bike and explore the magnificent country riding along the marked bike trails, take a walking tour or have a swim in Korana river during the hot summer days near the hotel (400 m). Winter specials are sledging and skiing at the Mukinje ski-resort, 6 km away.
"There are no words which could describe the beauty and the harmony of this area, therefore come, experience and be a part of this pristine and intact countryside".
"Easily the best hotel we stayed in on the whole trip. Very welcoming, excellent room and good location for the national park. Internal restaurant was also excellent but the one alongside very crowded with average food. The only negative comment on this hotel was the car parking. If you are not there early you cannot park anywhere nearby as the diners next door just fill all spaces and all the roads around. We took the hotel’s advice and did the lower lakes in the afternoon of our arrival and the upper lakes the following morning. Sadly the weather was awful and we toured the upper lakes in a serious thunderstorm but we still loved the place and are so glad we went there. Because of the weather there were not so many people there and we understand that from next year all visitors will need to pre-book to eliminate the excessive numbers and long queues."

"We'd just like to thank you for such a well organised holiday you gave us and from which we have just come back from Croatia. The hotels were well chosen - plenty of variety - the routes were well thought out - very scenic - and the local knowledge and research was evident everywhere."

"Just a quick note to say what a fabulous time we had in Croatia. The hotels chosen where fabulous particularly Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik, Hotel Korsal in Korcula, Hotel Mediterran in Zadar and Hotel Degenya in Plitvice (the pool had only been opened 10 days). The days we were driving where really easy and the best route form Korcula to Split is definately better by ferry. I understand that the border crossings with Bosnia can be a pain and lengthy at times. Got to see all my Games of Thrones sites apart from the Aborteum just outside Dubrovnik - think we missed the signs. There was only one error and that was the Hotel Edens fault - they did not have a twin room for the kids - they were fully booked, so could not change. But other than that no problems. "

"Thank you for organising a brilliant holiday for us. We returned half an hour early on Easy Jet yesterday. The 5 hotels were excellent, car parking worked well and we were bowled over by Croatia in general. It's a shame so much of Zadar is pst ww2, but what an excellent hotel! Luxe in Split was a great choice, modern, chic and well positioned. We loved Trogir. Hvar was the highlight, once we mastered the kerb at the car park which was a story in itself! The drive across Hvar was great fun and the mountain road is brand new. The ferry q was 4 hours .... After Mali Ston, it will be a while before I can eat more mussels and oysters, but what a great evening we had. We drove thru Bosnia, as we had eaten our day in the ferry q, which was not an issue at all. Dubrovnik was sensational and the Bellevue great. Nice people, great food, lift to the beach, great swimming, friendly taxis. So superior to Portugal and Spain and the wines were delicious. Even the red."

"The suggested itinery provided by Andy was excellent, and a good start to work with to plan our days which were very full and thoroughly enjoyable. The car hire was fabulous and gave us the freedom to explore such a beautiful country. Travelling slightly out of season meant that we avoided the crowds which I can imagine would have spoilt our trip had we gone a month earlier. We did a lot in a relatively short space of time and has given us the apetite to return in the future."

"Walking along Dubrovnik walls & spectacular views Enjoying Plitvice waterfalls - spent hrs walking every path. Beware Hvar town is nightclub land - seeing the town is a must but think a stay at Starigrad town would have been better. Cost of walking Dubrovnik walls high but apparently needed for conservation but would think good revenue brought in by cruise ship guests. Great mixture of inland walking & coast. Had bad experience with trip to Mostar so cannot recommend that."

"predictably busy but excellent all round. Very well located for park, excellent kayak excursion organised and highly recommended - the day with the lads from the kayak centre probably the highlight of the week for us."

"We returned from Croatia yesterday and I wanted to email and thank you for organising us such a fantastic holiday. Everything ran like clockwork. We had great taxi drivers who showered us with knowledge and information, we found all the hotels with no trouble, we absolutely loved every place we visited and marvelled how each one was different from the previous, we found the staff at most hotels were incredibly friendly and helpful and the sun shone every day! I would just like to mention the staff at Villa Tina and the reception staff at Hotel Mediteran were particularly charming and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we knew where we were going, what buses to catch, where we could park the car for free etc. We were amazed at our fabulous room with a brilliant view in Hotel Concordia. This was our favourite stopover mainly because of the position. The only blip was having to queue for five and a half hours for the ferry from Hvar to the mainland in the blistering heat. Apparently this is normal during high season but it meant we had very little time at Mali Ston which was such a shame as it was so gorgeous. We would most certainly use your company again. You have got the formula spot on and your attention to detail was excellent. We felt very well supported. I have already recommended you to friends and sometime in the future we will try out Morocco. Many thanks once again."

"The entire holiday was wonderful, more than we had imagined. Croatia is a very beautiful country. Every town/city we visited was a picture postcard. One of our memorable events was taking the ferry from Trogir to the small island of Drvenik Veli. After walking in the sun for 1 hour to a fish restaurant we came to the end of the road and a small building which turned out to be a private residence. We had walked in the wrong direction. The owner of the home turned out to be a journalist from Germany. We had a great visit with her, swam in the Adriatic at her private beach and then she drove us to the restaurant that would have been a 2 hour walk in the sun. It was a great afternoon, wonderful food and interesting company. Don't hesitate to visit the smaller islands on day trips. Learn about the history of each place through walking tours. Relax and enjoy the coast and swimming in the Adriatic. The island of Mljet is definitely worth a visit. We talked to many local people and bought their goods, such as fresh figs, sugared almonds and homemade Grappa. We also went to Konoba restaurants wherever we could to support family businesses. Excellent. We highly recommend this type of holiday to anyone travelling to Croatia. Driving is easy. Don't hesitate to do it. It is breath taking to drive along the coast."
