We also offer pizza baked in a bread oven and recommend our home-prepared plum brandy (šljivovica). In the winter period, ready-made meals are on the menu, such as Lika lunch, thick bean soup (grah) and pickled cabbage, goulash, sarma (cooked pickled cabbage stuffed with minced meat) etc. "

We also recommend a tour to the beautiful town of Bihać in neighbouring Bosnia Herzegovina (30 km). Plitvice lakes and Rakovica are great for active holidays: hire a bike and explore the magnificent country riding along the marked bike trails, take a walking tour or have a swim in Korana river during the hot summer days near the hotel (400 m). Winter specials are sledging and skiing at the Mukinje ski-resort, 6 km away.

"Received excellent service and advice from Andy and Dawn Scase at Rediscover the World on this trip. You may quote us! Any queries we made from Australia to Andy and Dawn in England were answered promptly and efficiently. Able to fit in an extra person at short notice. Trip advice on sites, hotels, detours etc resulted in a well paced and rewarding experience in Croatia."

"Thank you for organising a brilliant holiday for us. We returned half an hour early on Easy Jet yesterday. The 5 hotels were excellent, car parking worked well and we were bowled over by Croatia in general. It's a shame so much of Zadar is pst ww2, but what an excellent hotel! Luxe in Split was a great choice, modern, chic and well positioned. We loved Trogir. Hvar was the highlight, once we mastered the kerb at the car park which was a story in itself! The drive across Hvar was great fun and the mountain road is brand new. The ferry q was 4 hours .... After Mali Ston, it will be a while before I can eat more mussels and oysters, but what a great evening we had. We drove thru Bosnia, as we had eaten our day in the ferry q, which was not an issue at all. Dubrovnik was sensational and the Bellevue great. Nice people, great food, lift to the beach, great swimming, friendly taxis. So superior to Portugal and Spain and the wines were delicious. Even the red."

"Walking along Dubrovnik walls & spectacular views Enjoying Plitvice waterfalls - spent hrs walking every path. Beware Hvar town is nightclub land - seeing the town is a must but think a stay at Starigrad town would have been better. Cost of walking Dubrovnik walls high but apparently needed for conservation but would think good revenue brought in by cruise ship guests. Great mixture of inland walking & coast. Had bad experience with trip to Mostar so cannot recommend that."

"We have had a lovely holiday, thank you. We had 3 lots of 2 nights in Roving, Plitvic and Zadar, and then a week in Primosten. This is the first time we had toured around with our children (aged 5 and 7). When we asked which bit they preferred, they said the 'road trip' - we much thought they would have preferred the beach/Primosten stay. So much to see and do in Croatia, limited only really by the heat. But that made it possible to enjoy swimming in the sea. Your hotel recommendations were all different, and difficult to compare, but all good. The boys voted the breakfast in Hotel Mediteran their favourite, and this is also by far the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in - they even printed off some running routes for us without us asking. A great break, thank you."

"Just a quick note to say what a fabulous time we had in Croatia. The  hotels chosen where fabulous particularly Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik, Hotel Korsal in Korcula, Hotel Mediterran in Zadar and Hotel Degenya in Plitvice (the pool had only  been opened 10 days).  The days we were driving where really easy and the best route form Korcula to Split is definately better by ferry. I understand that the border crossings with Bosnia can be a pain and lengthy at times.  Got to see all my Games of Thrones sites apart from the Aborteum just outside Dubrovnik - think we missed the signs.  There was only one error and that was the Hotel Edens fault - they did not have a twin room for the  kids - they were fully booked, so could not change. But other than that no problems.   "

"I did want to say 'thank you' for the arrangements and recommendations you and Dawn made - it really was good and well arranged - and nothing went wrong. OK, the weather closed in earlier than the Croatians expected, so we had a good bit of rain. Andy & Dawn Scase know what they are doing and sorted out a really good trip for us. Their knowledge of itineraries and hotels is first class. Overall price very good considering quality of accommodation. Would definitely use Rediscover again."

"outstanding location, exceptional staff and excellent accommodation."

T Lambie, May, 2017

"All arrangements and hotels were excellent. Everything ran smoothly. However, for the benefit of future clients please note that Hotel Derossi in Trogir and Hotel Tuttorosso in Rovinj do not have car parking facilities and public car parks have to be used - this cost 18 for the two nights at Derossi and 30 approx in Rovinj! Also, finding some of the hotels was something of a challenge - even though we had a sat nav in use. Perhaps some more detailed driving directions would be advantageous. Hotel Villa Nova in Hvar is in the complex of old alleyways and a car cannot get near it. We had to do a lot of asking to find it. Anyway, these are just my thoughts, the whole holiday was terrific, and thank you very much for organising it."

"We just returned from our Croatia Fly/Drive trip yesterday, and I wanted to waste no time in letting you know what a wonderful time Dave and I had. (I will also submit feedback to Responsible Vacations so they know what a great experience we had and a great job you did.) We were so impressed by how smoothly everything went - transfers were prompt, service and friendliness exceptional, and hotel choices were perfect in location, style, and overall comfort. You were so easy to work with from the start, and very flexible and responsive in meeting our needs and answering questions. We so much appreciate everything, and look forward to working with you on additional trips in the future. Thank you!!!"

"The suggested itinery provided by Andy was excellent, and a good start to work with to plan our days which were very full and thoroughly enjoyable. The car hire was fabulous and gave us the freedom to explore such a beautiful country. Travelling slightly out of season meant that we avoided the crowds which I can imagine would have spoilt our trip had we gone a month earlier. We did a lot in a relatively short space of time and has given us the apetite to return in the future."
