The hotel is situated in the midst of idyllic scenery which is a guarantee of relaxation and peace. It is situated only 4 km from the gate of Plitvice lakes National Park. Baraćeve spilje (the Barać Caves) are only 10 km away and Rastoke, a village with water-mills in Slunj, is 20 km away.
Facilities: the offered specialties of the Degenija restaurant generally include meat, which is also characteristic of this area. The house specialties are fresh trout from Gacka and filled veal rolls in a mushroom sauce with home-made noodles. There is a terrace with a gorgeous panoramic vista of surrounding villages interspersed by lowlands and forest-covered hills. There are 60 seats on the terrace and 90 seats in an air-conditioned indoor part of the restaurant. Delicious food and a high-quality service in tranquil surroundings and invite you to come again.
"Diverse and rich a-la-carte menu: home-made cheese, Lika cheese (basa), domestic smoked ham (pršut) and hot sausage with paprika (kulen), various soups, grilled food, steak, turkey in gorgonzola, steak and various pasta. We also offer pizza baked in a bread oven and recommend our home-prepared plum brandy (šljivovica). In the winter period, ready-made meals are on the menu, such as Lika lunch, thick bean soup (grah) and pickled cabbage, goulash, sarma (cooked pickled cabbage stuffed with minced meat) etc. "
We also recommend a tour to the beautiful town of Bihać in neighbouring Bosnia Herzegovina (30 km). Plitvice lakes and Rakovica are great for active holidays: hire a bike and explore the magnificent country riding along the marked bike trails, take a walking tour or have a swim in Korana river during the hot summer days near the hotel (400 m). Winter specials are sledging and skiing at the Mukinje ski-resort, 6 km away.
"There are no words which could describe the beauty and the harmony of this area, therefore come, experience and be a part of this pristine and intact countryside".
"Plitvice Degenija - everything about this hotel was excellent - staff, grounds , food, etc"

"Ace place. Finding this place was surprisingly difficult given its location on the main road. There are a number of signs saying hotel Degenija in large bold letters which draw you in only to notice after leaving road that underneath in tiny writing it says 1 km , 500 km etc. IT would be better to tell people to look a sign saying PLUM restaurant on the right. Plum is part of the hotel."

"All arrangements and hotels were excellent. Everything ran smoothly. However, for the benefit of future clients please note that Hotel Derossi in Trogir and Hotel Tuttorosso in Rovinj do not have car parking facilities and public car parks have to be used - this cost 18 for the two nights at Derossi and 30 approx in Rovinj! Also, finding some of the hotels was something of a challenge - even though we had a sat nav in use. Perhaps some more detailed driving directions would be advantageous. Hotel Villa Nova in Hvar is in the complex of old alleyways and a car cannot get near it. We had to do a lot of asking to find it. Anyway, these are just my thoughts, the whole holiday was terrific, and thank you very much for organising it."

"The visit to Plitvisc lakes and falls were absolutely spectacular. Driving on the open roads is simple and easy. Through the towns can a little more nerve raking. Having a couple of nights in each place helped keep the pace realistic. Be prepared for limited ability for laundry other than the hotel services. Having 3 nights in Trogir was a little more than needed and would have been better 3 nights based in or nearer to Split as this was where most sights were. Overall it was a very interesting experience and well worth it. Croatia is a beautiful country with plenty of natural sights. Being just before the tourist season had its benefits with things being less busy. Just a few times things were not yet open. Some wonderful memories, I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend."

"predictably busy but excellent all round. Very well located for park, excellent kayak excursion organised and highly recommended - the day with the lads from the kayak centre probably the highlight of the week for us."

"We have had a lovely holiday, thank you. We had 3 lots of 2 nights in Roving, Plitvic and Zadar, and then a week in Primosten. This is the first time we had toured around with our children (aged 5 and 7). When we asked which bit they preferred, they said the 'road trip' - we much thought they would have preferred the beach/Primosten stay. So much to see and do in Croatia, limited only really by the heat. But that made it possible to enjoy swimming in the sea. Your hotel recommendations were all different, and difficult to compare, but all good. The boys voted the breakfast in Hotel Mediteran their favourite, and this is also by far the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in - they even printed off some running routes for us without us asking. A great break, thank you."

"We returned from Croatia yesterday and I wanted to email and thank you for organising us such a fantastic holiday. Everything ran like clockwork. We had great taxi drivers who showered us with knowledge and information, we found all the hotels with no trouble, we absolutely loved every place we visited and marvelled how each one was different from the previous, we found the staff at most hotels were incredibly friendly and helpful and the sun shone every day! I would just like to mention the staff at Villa Tina and the reception staff at Hotel Mediteran were particularly charming and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we knew where we were going, what buses to catch, where we could park the car for free etc. We were amazed at our fabulous room with a brilliant view in Hotel Concordia. This was our favourite stopover mainly because of the position. The only blip was having to queue for five and a half hours for the ferry from Hvar to the mainland in the blistering heat. Apparently this is normal during high season but it meant we had very little time at Mali Ston which was such a shame as it was so gorgeous. We would most certainly use your company again. You have got the formula spot on and your attention to detail was excellent. We felt very well supported. I have already recommended you to friends and sometime in the future we will try out Morocco. Many thanks once again."

"outstanding location, exceptional staff and excellent accommodation."

"The ability to drive throughout the country, see what we wanted to see and the secure knowledge that we would have a decent hotel to stay each night. It was truly memorable, and we highly recommend this company to book your trip. You were willing to shorten it for us as we could only be away for 10 days not 14 days. You looked at what we wanted and the sights we wanted to visit."

"Easily the best hotel we stayed in on the whole trip. Very welcoming, excellent room and good location for the national park. Internal restaurant was also excellent but the one alongside very crowded with average food. The only negative comment on this hotel was the car parking. If you are not there early you cannot park anywhere nearby as the diners next door just fill all spaces and all the roads around. We took the hotel’s advice and did the lower lakes in the afternoon of our arrival and the upper lakes the following morning. Sadly the weather was awful and we toured the upper lakes in a serious thunderstorm but we still loved the place and are so glad we went there. Because of the weather there were not so many people there and we understand that from next year all visitors will need to pre-book to eliminate the excessive numbers and long queues."
