Hydra - Bratsera Hotel
This is a former sponge factory from the mid 19 th century which has been lovingly restored and turned into one of the most charming small hotels in Greece . The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet courtyard, a couple of minutes walk from the main port.
Reception is large and airy and occupies the largest part of the former factory – its fireplace provides a cosy atmosphere in cooler months.
The hotel consists of 28 individually styled en-suite rooms, all with air conditioning (and heating in the winter) and direct dial telephone.
The Virani suite, with its magnificent hand painted friezes, occupies the top floor of the separate 18 th century building.
The Bratsera boasts a magnificent garden of oleander, jacaranda, bougainvillaea and wild herbs. A delightful swimming pool occupies the spacious garden and meals can be taken on the terrace.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are also served in the Bratsera's comfortable dining room. Here you can sample excellent local cuisine and enjoy some wonderful local wine.
