"4WD and Meharee to Sahara Dreams"
2DAYS / 1NIGHT - ref. ITCLDA02m
DAY 1: MARRAKECH - OUARZAZATE - ZAGORA - M'HAMID.
From your hotel in Marrakech set out at 6:30 am across the Glaoua plains in the 4x4, across the Atlas mountains through the Tizi N’ Tichka (2660m), thence alongside the Oued Ouarzazate to see a dramatic change in the countryside - from high mountain ranges to semi-desert and oases, continuing ever further south to Ouarzazate. After a brief stop youtravel down the beautiful Draa valley to Zagora where you stop for lunch by the pool at the friendly Fibule du Draa Hotel. After a relaxing stop in Zagora you move on to our final destination, virtually the end of the road, in M’Hamidat theDar Azawad.

Here you will change the mode of transport, swapping 4 wheels for 4 legs! Once saddled up you will enjoy our méharée of just over an hour across the dunes to the fixed bivouac site - the Reve au Sahara. Enjoy a welcome glass of mint tea under the tamarisk trees while the sun sets and the evening meal is being prepared. After night fall, the lamps are lit, sit back and enjoy your meal and music under the stars.

DAY 2: M'HAMID - TAMEGROUTE - ZAGORA - OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH.
After an incredible sunrise and a delicious breakfast of freshly prepared bread, pancakes and fresh orange juice, you set off around 9am on the dromedary back to Dar Azawad where you will meet up again with your driver for your return northwards. En route visit the ancient village of Tamegroute, a seat of learning since the XIth Century, with its incredible library of XIII century illuminated Koranic scrolls written on gazelle hide - a voluntary contribution to the upkeep of the library is always appreciated. Continue your stroll through the alleyways of the underground Kasbah to the ancient pottery co-operative.

Afterwards, continue via Zagora north along the Draa valley and on to the city of Ouarzazate; just north of the city you shall stop at the magnificent ksour of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a UNESCO world heritage site. After a short, unguided, visit you shall have a light lunch before continuing up over the Adrar N‘Deren and down across the Glaoua plains and Marrakech to your hotel at around 7pm.

Customer comments:
" I would like to thank you and the team and specially our driver Ali for the wonderful experience. It was super, the whole family enjoyed it, it's a memory we will treasure for the rest of our life. The beautiful scenery was breathtaking and at times mind blowing. The light lunch in Zagora was excellent, good choice of venue... Our only regret - should have spent more time there.
