Marrakech Excursions
Walk the Peaceful Ourika Valley and Aghbalou Waterfalls
|
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays:
This privately-guided itinerary takes us on a two and a half hour drive south through the suprisingly beautiful and refreshing Ourika Valley to the Berber mountain village of Tamzenddirt (1150m), where we shall meet our mountain guide and muleteer. From here we start a easy walk of some 4 hours up a hillside trail to the hamlet of Anins and through the col (1670m), down to the Aghbalou Cascade (1148m), where we shall stop for our picnic (included) beside the delightful waterfall - an opportunity perhaps, in season, to get delightfully wet!
Refreshed, we amble on across the Assif Ourika to rejoin our private car to take us to the riverside hamlet of Setti Fadma, with its shaddy groves of ancient walnut trees and apple orchards in the startling backdrop of the High Atlas mountains, to return to marrakech by around 7 pm. Good trainers, bottled water, camera and perhaps swimming costume and towel are required.
