At Luosto you have the opportunity to participate in winter sports. Imagine driving a motorised skidoo across deep snow, along a frozen river or testing your driving techniques in an Arctic Challenge. Then it's back to nature enjoying the thrills of a ride with a husky team and enjoying rides with reindeer.

A visit with Santa Claus
Christmas has passed and Santa will be resting following his arduous duties. He nevertheless always welcomes children visiting him in his homeland. As one of the afternoon children's entertainment activities, a visit directly to his cabin in the middle of the snowy forest will be arranged for any interested parties.
Reservations need to be made on your arrival night at the resort. Please note that Santa's special Elves are resting and do not appear on this tour.

The Aurora Chalet Hotel was opened in Luosto in August 2005. It is a small quality hotel offering private facilities in all bedrooms as well as private saunas. Rooms vary in size; some have private fireplace and are very cosy! Suitable for between 2 and 4 persons offering twins or triples with the larger rooms having a convertible sofa for 2. A small restaurant for up to 60 and a lobby bar seating up to 30 complete the fine facilities of this hotel. Igloo accommodation Whether you are accommodated in a hotel or cabin the lure of the Arctic may prevail. Igloos will be built (subject to satisfactory weather conditions) and you are invited to stay overnight in one at no extra charge. Please let us know if you wish to do this! |
Cabins vary in style but in each one you will find your own private sauna, shower and wc, kitchen area, TV and a warm air clothes dryer. For the romantics at heart there is a wonderful log fire in each one (although all have central heating as well!)
Open plan cabins normally provide 2 double beds built into the wood at a lower level and 2 upper beds. Others may provide a different breakdown of beds but will still provide for a maximum of 6 persons. These will be situated 5 to 25 minutes walk from the main log cabin restaurant.
Two bedroom cabins generally accommodate 4 persons, although it may be possible to obtain some for 6 persons. These cabins are situated 15 to 30 minutes walk from the restaurant. Five 'log rooms' are also available within the main building which that houses the log cabin restaurant - these are suitable for elderly persons in the party who may not wish to walk to and from the cabins. Please note that these rooms do not have a sauna or log fire. Towels and linen are provided in the cabins and log rooms and clients may use the facilities such as the swimming pool, solarium etc at the Hotel Luostotunturi as an additional cost.
