The Dar Mimosas is a stunning private villa complex with huge well-tended gardens and terraces with sea views. On the outskirts of town (just over 2km), near the estuary of the Bou Ksab and hidden behind high terracotta walls. Originally a private residence which has entertained some of the stars of Hollywood in years gone by, the Mimosas is situated within large gardens and has direct access to the river estuary (great for birdwatching) and the beach - a haven of tranquility. The main house has a number of quiet lounge areas and a bar and a dining room. The external terrace is used for breakfast.

A decent sized swimming pool with sun terrace is the highlight of the beautiful and fragrant gardens.

In our opinion the finest property in Essaouira - minimum stay 4nts on BB.

Accommodation:

All accommodation is in the form of large suites (Junior and Royal), traditionally furnished with a high quality atmosphere, more of a sophisticated private villa than a hotel. All have a spacious lounge area with CD, safe, mini-bar, kitchen amenities and bathroom.

Suite Riad (sleeps 2 or 2 plus small child) - two in higher blue house which has sea view, both with bathroom, lounge, roof terrace and fireplace, no TV.

Royal Suites (sleep up to 5) - independent villas with two bedrooms (one king size and one twin), bathroom, large lounge, fireplace, private garden and patio area with fountains. Two suites have an extra alcove for a child's bed, TVs in most. Villas are designed so that bedroom areas are on opposite corners of the central lounge, second bathroom is smaller than main one, central lounge is large and doubles as dining room. Kitchens have modest sized 'fridge, electric hotplates, coffee maker and are suitable for simple self-catering. All villas have private entrance through own gate and small garden.

Facilities:

Meals are available to order and can be taken in any of the small dining areas or in your own suite - excellent home-made Moroccan cuisine, with a little French influence. Property also has a swimming pool, small gym, extensive gardens and has camel and horse riding excursions available. Plenty of parking available. Hammam and jacuzzi, massage.
