Magic of Lapland Yllas Luxury Cabins Short Break - 3 days - 2008

Itinerary
Day One:
On arrival in Kittila with your representative you will transfer to your choice of cabin in Yllasjarvi (approx 50 minutes) where you will check in and collect your thermal clothing (clothing and boot sizes need to be advised 2 weeks prior to departure). Depart for a husky dog farm where you will learn about the lives of these dogs before going through the forest for about 3km with a team of huskies!
Dinner is served in your cabin.
Day Two:
Breakfast in your cabin is followed by a day full of snow fun activities. An exciting reindeer ride of about 40 minuts takes you to a reindeer herders' cabin. Join in tandem skiing, snow shoe walking and tobogganing. Children can join the elves in making Christmas decorations.Meet Santa in his cabin in the forest where he has stopped for a rest. Santa will read your child's letter and has a gift for them! A simple Lappish lunch is served.
In the evening a festive dinner will be served in your cabin.
Day Three:
A free morning after breakfast is followed by a 3 hour snowmobile safari through unspoilt Lappish wilderness with a stop in the forest for warm drinks and a snack. Adults can drive their own snowmobile and children and those who do not wish to drive are pulled in sleighs. After returning the thermal clothing you transfer to the airport for the flight home.
ACCOMMODATION
Yllas Luxury Cabins

A selection of individual traditional and modern luxury cabins in Yllas, some close to the hotel and ski slopes, some more secluded and located in the forest. Cabins are built from dried pine wood or log wood and are equipped to a high standard. All cabins have individual features nd come in different sizes sleeping 4, 7, 8 + 2*, 10 and 10+2*, 12 and 17. They all have an open plan ground floor with kitchen area and living room. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms varies from cabin to cabin and depends on the size. * Extra bed All cabins have fully equipped kitchen, sauna, fireplace, shower, WC, TV, hair dryer and drying cabinet. Meals are supplied by a local catering company, member of the Chaine des Rottisseures. Meals are prepared and served in the cabin, (with the exception of Day 2 when lunch is served at the activity area) and is a combination of traditional Finnish and international dishes. Choices are available from the a la carte menu and these need to be received one week before departure. There is a welcome basket consisting of coffee, milk, tea, biscuits, soft drinks and wine. Transfers are private or in smaller groups. |
