Itinerary
Day One:
On arrival in Kittila with your representative you will transfer to Akaslompolo (approx 50 minutes) where you will collect your thermal clothing before going on to Yllashumina hotel. Following a reviving lunch you will depart for a husky dog farm where you will take part in a husky dog safari of 5km. Coffee and warm juice with pancakes are served after the activity.
Return to your hotel for welcome drinks and dinner.
Day Two:
Breakfast is followed by a visit to the Lapp Village for a day full of activities starting with Arctic Circle ceremony, snow fun - tandem skiing, snow shoe walking, kick sledging, tobogganing and children's snowmobiles. Make gingerbread cookies and Christmas decorations.Lunch is served in the Lapp Village restaurant throughout the day. A snowmobile ride and reindeer sleigh ride takes you in search of Santa's cabin. Once inside the cabin you have a private family visit with Santa.In the evening a festive dinner is served in Yllashumina restaurant.
Day Three:
A free morning after breakfast is followed by a 25km Snowmobile safari through unspoilt Lappish wilderness with a stop in the forest for warm drinks and a sausage BBQ. After returning the thermal clothing you transfer to the airport for the flight home.
ACCOMMODATION
Yllashumina Hotel

A family run, small, friendly hotel located at the foot of Yllastunturi fell in the village of Akaslompolo. This log cabin hotel is set in tranquil and picturesque scenery and offers simple yet comfortable accommodation in log cabins. Yllashumina prides itself on personal service and a warm atmosphere with a simple yet sophisticated feel. The traditional log restaurant is renowned for good food. The main building houses the reception, restaurant and Humina pub. Scattered around this main building are the log cabins, each of which has two separate rooms. The rooms sleep up to four, with the twin bed on the ground floor level and the double mattresses on the raised loft area. The cabin rooms are suitable for individual families as well as for parties up to eight. Also available are log cabin apartments which sleep up to five. Log cabins, each with two individual apartments, are located 250m from the hotel reception.
Also available on request is a large cabin with its own log fire and sauna. This cabin has eight rooms and can accommodate parties up to 20 persons. Overall the hotel has 16 cabins plus the large cabin, a sauna, reception, restaurant and Humina pub. Please note that all rooms and the restaurant are non smoking. Hotel Facilities: 16 cabins - 32 roomsand the large cabin, sauna, reception, restaurant and Humina pub. All cabin rooms have: shower, WC, TV, phone, hairdryer, clothes dryer, and can accommodate up to four persons. All cabin apartments have: shower, WC, TV, phone, hair dryer, clothes dryer, seating area, kitchenette and a private sauna. Some apartments also have a fireplace. |
