MARATHOKAMPOS

is the main village of the southwest part of the island. ORMOS MARATHOKAMPOS is a small fishermen’s village, which used to serve as the bay of Marathokampos. Today it is a still small but very tasteful resort with tavernas and cafes along the sea-side, self-catering accommodations and hotels spread all around.

Ormos has a nice long pebled beach. At a distance of apprx. 2 kms we come to KAMPOS MARATHOKAMPOS, a self sufficient resort with the famous 1.8 kms long beach of VOTSALAKIA. There are some hotels and many self-catering properties along the coast road, as well as many tavernas, cafes and souvenir shops. Exchange and car hire facilities. Kampos is the perfect starting-point for hiking tours to the highest mount of the Aegean Sea, “Kerkis” (1.440 m), as well as towards the west, a stretch of pebbled and sandy beaches still unspoilt, such as “Limnionas” with very fines pebbles, with restaurants, mini market and self-catering accommodations.
