Itinerary

The starting point for this trail is Velika Vitlenica; from the beginning of the track, the path leads up to reach a peak in around three hours. At first walking through the woods, on a well-marked hiking trail, then after about an hour and a half of the hike entering the valley where there is a cattle hut that mountaineers can use if they find themselves in trouble during the weather or if they find themselves at night on the mountain. At the intersection, it is time to turn left towards Crljenak Lake, which after 30 minutes brings you to one of the miracles of nature - the "Hajdučka Vrata", running along the edge of the canyon of Diva Grabovica, sometimes at a height of 1800m. Infact, the symbol of the “Čvrsnica mountain” is the Hajdučka Vrata, a unique stone circuit that was formed over thousands of years. Along the way to get to this hike is an off-road vehicle experience through the mountain ranges of Čabulja and Čvrsnica from Mostar to the nature park of Blidinje. During the journey you will hear the rich history of these mountains from a local guide - the legend says that there were once proclaimed outlaws “Hajduci”, and that one who walks along the “Hajdučka Vrata” becomes bulletproof.
