What makes this holiday special ?

We have great pleasure in offering you the opportunity to experience Morocco accompanied by one of our excellent team of English-speaking drivers.

Travelling with one of our friendly English-speaking drivers allows you to experience much more of the country and its people. Your driver will gladly discuss both your daily schedule and general matters about Morocco and the places you pass; he can arrange local guides or co-ordinate any itinerary of pre-booked sightseeing that we arrange with you beforehand. In addition to your driver's experience and knowledge during your holiday we have also driven extensively around Morocco and will be happy to share our experiences with you if you are at all unsure about your chosen route or any aspect of travelling with one of our drivers.

Your driver will drive any type of vehicle within their daily rate which also includes their food and lodging.

Hotels are personal suggestions but there is usually a choice of styles and budget at each location. We are, of course, also able to tailor-make a holiday to suit your requirements for any or all of the following - UK departure airport, budget, hotel type/size, duration, activities, etc.

Highlights of Wonders of the South Private Journey

  • MARRAKECH - Nestled on a large plain at the foot of the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains, it is the perfect city to begin your visit to Morocco. Surrounded by its original fortified city wall Marrakech entices you into its midst to explore the historic and labyrinthine Medina. Today, Marrakech has become a thriving metropolis with chic night spots, top restaurants and a very modern atmosphere in places. All of which emphasises the immense historical context of the Medina and its focal point, the Djemma el Fna.
  • OUARZAZATE: Ouarzazate is the first town most people see after crossing the High Atlas and is the unofficial capital of the south of Morocco. Formerly a Foreign Legion outpost it has been notably used as a location backdrop by many epic films such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth. Ouarzazate has an old town with its maze of narrow streets and a new town where most of the hotels are located. The Kasbah Taourirt is within walking distance of most hotels and is well worth a visit.
  • DRAA VALLEY: The Drâa Valley extends for almost 200km towards the South and irrigates a narrow oasis where dates and henna grow. After leaving the Drâa Valley, a series of oases rapidly succeed each other along the fine desert-like road leading to Zagora. Don't hesitate to stop to experience their unchanged way of life. The environment is exceptionally well preserved.
  • SAHARA ADVENTURE: The Sahara seems such a long way away but on this trip you will have the opportunity to ride through the dunes on the back of a dromedary leaving you with incredible and magical memories of the awesome canopy of the starlit heavens and the peacefulness and tranquility of the desert.
  • ANTI ATLAS MOUNTAINS: The Anti Atlas are the furthest south of Morocco's mountain ranges and much less developed for tourism. Although they are less dramatic in the size of their peaks than the nearby High Atlas they do offer unique scenery refelcting a totally different geology, including the famous painted rocks. This is an opportunity to explore a part of Morocco overlooked by so many.
  • TIZNIT: Just a short journey south of Agadir but a whole world apart, Tiznit is a traditional town with a small pink-walled Medina built by Moulay Hassan sandwiched between the Atlantic coast and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. It's also a good base to enjoy the national park and wildlife sanctuary to the north, excursions into the Anti Atlas and along the coast and further to the desert in the south.
  • MIRLEFT: Mirleft is a modest village along the unspoilt Atlantic coastline heading down towards Sidi ifni; it has a castle perhced on a hillside overlooking the town and a stunning beach. There is a good choice of accommodation here offering relaxation and outdoor activities.

"We cannot praise enough our main driver and guide Mostapha El Ghazi who is an excellent choice for families as he loves old and young alike, is personable, warm, friendly and wise and became a good friend who we were sad to say goodbye to when we were dropped off at Essaouira. We shall keep in touch and feel he is a very special person, inspirational with his kind and gentle view of the world - we had an insight into trekking the Atlas Mountains and the peaceful Berber lifestyle. We learnt a lot from him and were humbled by his altruism. This made it more than the usual holiday - a real eye opener for our teenage daughters! We can not recommend him highly enough for English/French/Spanish/Arabic speaking families."
