The Davvi Arctic Lodge is a charming, simple property set on a quiet, secluded hillside in the border village of Karesuando.
The restaurant, its circular design inspired by the shape of a Sami reindeer corral, is the hotel’s centrepiece and from here you can enjoy panoramic views over the snow-covered hillside to Swedish Lapland located just across the border.
You are spoilt for choice of accommodation at the Davvi Arctic Lodge. You can stay in the Arctic Lodge rooms, in timber cabins in the grounds or in suites at the Fell House, a converted border guard and customs house 150m away from the main hotel. Luxury accommodation is available at the Aurora House.
The main Arctic Lodge building consists of 25 rooms split over two floors -these can be doubles or twins. On the upper floor the rooms form part of the circular reindeer corral build of the hotel and the rooms on the lower floor span the north and south wings of the building. All rooms have ensuite shower room and guests have access to the hotel sauna and hot tub (local charges apply). Rooms are simply furnished and comfortable. All can accommodate an extra bed, usually a convertible chair and, depending on your party size, larger double rooms featuring a sofa bed with space for an extra chair bed are available on the lower floor.
Please note that if these larger double rooms are utitlised to their maximum occupancy, space and storage will be minimal.
Facilities include bar, reception, restaurant, small gift shop.
