Walking/Trekking

There are many paths and trails to explore along the coasts and inland, making use of the extensive network of routes once used to travel between the hilltop villages and the coast during the days of the pirates. The foothills of Mount Pantokrator on Corfu offer another excellent option for immersing yourself amongst beautiful scenery, wild flowers (end May/June) and the untouched interior of the island. We would also like to recommend hiking in the unspoilt and beautiful mountain scenery of Zagorochori on the mainland - accessable from Athens, Thessaloniki, Parga and Corfu.

Riding (Corfu)

There is simple beauty and natural harmony involved in a day's horse riding. This is particularly true in Corfu where an experienced and dedicated club operates rides for visitors of any standard. Novice riders can enjoy trails through the shade of orange and olive groves central Corfu whilst experienced riders can tackle the base of Mount Pantokrator through pastures and dry riverbeds. Riding normally takes place during the cooler hours of the day and a picnic lunch can be provided.

Golf (Corfu)

Visitor and golfer alike often overlook the Ropa Valley Golf Course. Designed by Donald Harradine to take in tree-lined fairways, lakes and meandering streams, it is considered one of the 20 best courses in Europe. A British professional is on hand to provide lessons or simply hire a set of clubs and enjoy the challenge of this magnificent course. A restaurant, luxurious club house and professional shop are located on site.

Food & Drink

Like us I am sure that eating and drinking the local cuisine in Greece is one of your finest pleasures, not only for the quality of the food and wine but also for the atmosphere in which it is consumed. Take some time out to learn more about Greek cuisine by visiting the kitchen of your favourite taverna or talking to the owner about his wine and the day's fishing.

Diving

A number of professional diving schools exist in Greece offering a complete range of standards and the option to obtain qualifications such as PADI and BSAC. If you have never experienced the delights and wonder of the underwater world, there are great opportunities to 'escape from reality'. Please ask for details of professionally organised day cruises that include tuition and fully escorted dives, including an underwater photographic reminder of your experience.

Watersports

Greece offers a widespread choice of water-based activities, from simple pedaloes and windsurfing to all types of sailing. It you would like to learn some new skills, such as waterskiing or just wish to view the beautiful landscapes from the dizzy heights of a parascending trip we will be happy to advise the best location for each activity . There are also some great water parks including, in Corfu - 'Aqua Land' and Hydropolis.
