For such a small country Northern Ireland is incredibly blessed by historical sites, stunning scenery, long golden beaches, lakes, mountains and the friendliest people you will ever meet.
This is a very flexible fly drive. Some people like to spend a few nights in Belfast at the beginning or the end of their stay; some choose to leave the city behind and stay in either one or two places during the week.
The Ballygalley Hotel is charming and enjoys a wonderful location overlooking the sea. You could use this as a base to explore the famous Glens of Antrim, do some walking in the Antrim Plateau or perhaps head down to Islandmagee to visit the Gobbins, the spectacular coastal path once enjoyed by the Edwardians (maintenance work permitting!)
Your second stop could be up in Bushmills on the doorstep of the world-famous Giant's Causeway. The nearby Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge is for the brave at heart and we'd also highly recommend a visit to the Bushmills Distillery for a wee tipple of its exquisite whiskey (though probably best not to do the bridge and the distillery on the same day!!)
The main event though is the Causeway Coast Road, rated one of the Top Five road trips in the world. It winds its way through picturesque villages, unspoilt landscapes, tumbledown castles, dramatic coastline and thoroughly gorgeous rural scenery.
