Car hire in Morocco is no longer expensive and road conditions are reasonably safe and easy to negotiate between the major towns, even many off-road routes are becoming popular for those renting 4WD vehicles. With our excellent, competitive prices for car hire, Morocco is opening up to some quite unique holiday experiences.

Morocco Rediscovered works with a local company, the same one we have used for almost ten years now with almost total reliability and efficiency; the majority of the cars are Toyota, similar to those available in the UK. There are a number of ways to travel around Morocco and with your own car you can choose to have a driver for some or all of the time - see details below the car hire price grid.

Roads are quite good in most places, even in the mountains and desert areas they are mostly asphalted. We do not recommend driving at night though as headlights can be optional and safety barriers on some mountain roads are non-existent. We have all driven around Morocco and will be happy to share our experiences with you if you are at all unsure about self-drive. We have put together some suggestions based on our knowledge of living and working in Morocco and the travelling around Morocco's vast countryside that we have enjoyed over the years on the suggested itineraries page - see link below grid.

NB: Prices updated for 2009 to include currency supplement due to devaluation of UK Pound against Moroccan Dirham & Euro.

All rates are fully inclusive of unlimited kms, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Waiver, Personal Accident Insurance, Fully Comprehensive Insurance and ALL local taxes/fees and are applicable to all pre-booked car hire. There is also a 24hr emergency service. 

Excess Waiver: Morocco Rediscovered have negotiated a great deal for our clients on the insurance excess for car hire - it has been removed altogether, i.e. drivers will avoid any further financial liability in the event of any accident (usual exceptions apply, e.g. driving whilst under the influence of alcohol, etc.)

Delivery and collection charges:   

Collection from the airport or delivery to any hotel in Marrakech, Agadir or Casablanca is included in the price, however if you wish to start or finish your rental elsewhere then the following charges apply:

NB: Whilst we are happy to offer car rental as a separate service to clients not making hotel and/or flight reservations through Morocco Rediscovered, we reserve the right to make a booking fee (currently £10) on any such rentals of less than 7 days.

Private English-Speaking Driver Service:

If you would prefer not to drive or wish to enjoy the scenery as you pass through this fantastic country then we can offer you the services of a private chauffeur at the rate of £60 per day (this charge includes food and lodgings). Your driver will be English-speaking and will be able to assist with any local sightseeing, e.g. arranging a local, official guide for historic monuments, etc. (Entrance fees to National Monuments and local guide charges apply in some places). You would need to bear in mind the size of your party (with luggage) plus the driver when choosing a suitable rental vehicle and, of course, you would be responsible for payment of fuel as usual.

Private Chauffeur / Guide Service:

We can also offer a fully qualified National Guide who will drive and provide a full guide service as if you were on one of our tours. This service costs £85 per day (only entrance fees will be extra).

Private Driver Service:

If you required just a driver (or are fluent in Arabic) then we are able to provide one of our local drivers at a reduced rate of £45 per day.

NB: All drivers are booked on a calendar day basis rather than the 24hr system for car hire; this allows them to get to your arrival point and / or return home at the end of their 'tour' with you.
