Islands of the Adriatic - Miljet

Whether traveling by boat or car the journey through the Southern Dalmatian Coast is spectacular. The islands of Southern Dalmatia offer beautiful scenery and a variety of historical sights with mediaeval walled towns perched on the edge of the Adriatic. Miljet is one of the smaller but most beautiful of the islands - its western half is given over to a Nature Park to protect the environment of its famous salt lakes.

Miljet is a peaceful holiday location, ideally suited to those who love nature and a quiet evening enjoying the local cuisine. The park is densely wooded and has two lakes which are joined to the sea, the 12th Century Monastery of St. Mary is in the middle of the largest one. Exploration by boat, bicycle and on foot are all possible and recommneded.
