Imperial Cities of Morocco
Morocco Rediscovered offer a full programme of hotels, riads and excursions in the north of Morocco. The ancient and historic capitals of Morocco are included here, Fez, Meknes and Rabat plus Casablanca and the bordering mountain ranges of the Mid Atlas and the Rif.
Click on the links below to view descriptions of each of the potential destinations for your holiday and see the photographs of the hotels and riads we have personally chosen. As in Marrakech (the other Imperial City) at least one member of our staff has visited these properties and will be more than happy to discuss their standard, location and facilities in details if required.
Fez is large and bustling but not as busy a tourist destination as Marakech is currently, Meknes is more relaxed but still bursting with history and both are ideal bases for the mountains and the impressive ruins and mosaics at the Roman site of Volubilis. Rabat is one of our favourites in Morocco as it has the stately monuments and palaces of the capital plus a great relaxed atmosphere located as it is on the mouth of the Bou Regreg river. Casablanca, although it has none of the charm or history of the other cities offered here, is a very convenient stopover for first and last nights in Morocco and we highly recommend a visit to the very impressive Hassan II Mosque.
