A Two hours out from Ouarzazate in the heart of the Dades valley (27 kilometres up from Boumalne du Dades), between Valley of Roses, the palm grove of Tinerir and Todra gorges, Kasbah de La Vallée is a small hotel-restaurant ideally located at the entrance of the Dades gorges. Just over the Dades river, it offers a wonderful panoramic view over the oued, the silver poplars and the entrance of the awesome Dades gorges where you can still encounter many nomads living there with their herds.
The Dades Valley and gorges are an exceptional landscape; the Dades never dries and so runs through the whole year in the gorges, pleasantly cooling them in the summer. This hotel is in front of a small creek where the nomads regularly come. You can take breakfast on the terrace and then later take walk among the small wheat parcels, the fruit trees, have a picnic, you’ll come back in the evening in the hotel for a dinner enlightened by local musicians and the sound of the dimdouns. Recently redecorated, Kasbah de La Vallée was one of the first hotels in the Dades gorges. Hammou and Mohammed Sahbi, the owners, created a welcoming hotel, simple and comfortable, where you feel treated like a friend. The food, traditional Moroccan, is generous and delicious. The whole team of hotel “La Kasbah de La Vallée” will make its very best for you, with the kindness that is a characteristic of Moroccan hospitality. You can make a short stop, for a lunch, or a night during your trip in Morocco, or stay a few days to enjoy the Dades and the country of the Thousand Kasbahs.

Defensive architecture, which was justified in the times of constant war between the tribes, a kasbah is a large squared building, with thick strong walls, very often with four towers at the angles. Inside were the quarters of one or more families, the servants, a granaries, and room enough for the cattle when necessary. The most important tribe is called Ait Sedrat, but these nomads settled some time ago. It is in part still unreachable by a normal car that the last nomads, of the Ait Hadidous tribe, live. Their main resources are their herds (lambs, goats and camels), and the profit made from selling the wool.
Stunning views across the Dades valley from most parts of the hotel, sit back and enjoy the scenery of the lush river valley, deserted kasbahs and hillside villages.
