NB: Riad Maria is currently unavailable due to severe damage in a recent "flash flood" event in 2006.
Stunning property, by far the best quality hotel at the dunes of Merzouga and highly recommended by us. Not only does the hotel face out on to Erg Chebbi itself it also has a swimming pool and delicious gourmet food (Maria is an excellent and renowned Italian chef).
If you are not taking a desert trip you can still experience the beauty of the sunrise and sunset across the desert from here just by walking out to the dunes (see picture above).

20 rooms all with a/c and heating, private bathrooms and direct access to the pool.
2 suites with private terrace looking directly at the dunes; capable of taking an extra bed.
Facilities:
2 bars (one inside and one by the pool), tea room, restaurant serving gourmet Italian and excellent Moroccan cuisine. Please advise at the time of booking if you have any special diets, Maria will accommodate any preferences but does need a little notice to obtain the fresh ingredients.
