DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BERBER – ONE DAY EVENT

Located at the foothill of the Atlas Mountains in the village of Boulaoune, or Igui-N-Targua, in the Seksaoua valley, 4 kilometres from Imintanoute - midway between Marrakech and Agadir.

The Berber Cultural Centre (BCC) is an innovative new idea to preserve, protect and demonstrate the rich heritage of Morocco.  It is a modern day facility using ancient methods of construction.  The interior decor and implements are just as they would have been if you stepped back in time one hundred years. Morocco has pride in its culture and welcomes visitors into it.

During your “DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BERBER” you will experience:

- local hospitality and take the opportunity to learn “hands-on” about the Amazigh Berber Culture.

This one day program is designed to give you a genuine experience of what life is actually like for the local people in the Seksaoua Valley.  This is no quick excursion into a village for a fake cup of tea, but an invitation to the heart of village life.  From your arrival at around 9.30am you will be involved in the daily activities that concern the local population; from drawing water at the well on a donkey to cooking food for lunch, helping with a harvest, milking goats, weaving a rug, or participating in a tea making contest.

Your visit will give you a taste of the incredible hospitality which these people are famous for, and it will give you an insight into a way of life that has disappeared in many parts of the world- where the family and community are still important.

Not only will your experience will be inspirational and personally rewarding, but you will contribute to the direct support of the local economy, education, people and land.

7 hrs duration (excluding transfer time)

PRICES INCLUDE: return transportation Marrakech to/from the Centre.  Lunch - if vegetarian or vegan – please pre-advise.
