Reservations - All our holidays are tailor-made so please feel free to request any combination of hotels, riads or tours for your own holiday. The minimum reservation for our accommodation only service is 3 nights in total, although not necessarily at same property. Simply contact us by phone or email or complete one of our enquiry forms. Why Rediscover? - All our reservations staff have worked in Morocco (or visited extensively) and will be more than happy to offer advice and suggestions on any of our featured destinations, tours and properties. Prices - our prices are similar to or quite often cheaper than our internet competitors or booking directly and significantly cheaper than those producing expensive brochures whilst our service, knowledge and after sales care is second to none. Security - Rediscover the World is a member of the TTA (T6816), we also hold our own ATOL bond (T7172). We therefore provide full financial security and assistance should any part of your holiday not happen entirely to plan. If you were to assemble your holiday yourself you may not have this sort of protection.

Sahara - isn't that too far?

The Sahara feels like such a distant image that it would not seem possible to get there and back in two days from Marrakech but with Rediscover the World a visit to the real desert of Morocco's deep south is a reality. The nearest section of the Sahara in just a little south of Zagora and it is in this region that we offer three stunning experiences - the '05z' at Erg Lihoudi, the '06z' in a private oasis at Tellougui and the new '02m' "Sahara Dreams" near M'Hamid.

What's the journey like?

From your hotel or riad in Marrakech your journey will begin across the Glaoua Plains and up via the winding road over the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka (2260m). From this high point you will see a dramatic change in the countryside - from high mountain ranges to semi-desert and oases. Either outbound or on your return you will stop at the magnificently exotic ksour of Aït Ben Haddou, declared, and rightly so, a World Heritage Site; here Hollywood has shot many of its films, including, as everyone will tell you, “Lawrence of Arabia” and "Gladiator". Further south to Ouarzazate and down the beautiful Drâa Valley to the small kasbah-like Hotel Fibule Du Drâa in the oasis town of Zagora. Sahara Dreams continues south to M'Hamid.

Where will we stay?

From Zagora there is a choice of places to stay overnight and this will depend upon how far you wish to travel and your budget. Whichever version of our desert adventures you choose there will be (as a minimum) an extended camel ride (Meharee) of 2-3 hours (1 hour for the Sahara Dreams) and then you will spend the night out in the desert, in a Bedouin camp. The sunsets and sunrises in the rarefied air of the desert can simply take your breath away, this night may be spent in our carpetted, nomadic tents or out in the open under an awesome canopy of the starlit heavens.

Summary.

All travel is by air-conditioned, 4WD vehicle, most meals and sightseeing are included and, crucially, there is an extended camel ride into the desert with an overnight stay in a Bedouin tent in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

NB: All of these trips are designed as excursions to be incorporated into Rediscover the World tailor-made holidays, i.e. those of you booking accommodation and / or flights, etc. as well as activities and excursions through us. However, many can be reserved as stand-alone trips. This means that ALL excursions are available to be pre-booked for ANY date, just for YOU. If you wish to book one of the two-day trips (05z, 06z, 02m) as a stand-alone reservation then we reserve the right to add a small booking fee. All our desert trips are based on including private transfers from Marrakech; please contact us to arrange accommodation - we are experts for small hotels and riads across Morocco.
