Our connection with Greece dates back to the late 1980s when Dawn worked on Aegina (a beautiful island near Athens) for a few years as an overseas representative. Dawn returned to Greece in the 1990s and managed resorts on Aegina (again), Crete, Lefkas, Skiathos and Skopelos. As well as the islands Dawn also knows Athens very well.

Andy spent his overseas career in the Ionian, looking after the islands of Ithaca and Lefkas, the mainland resorts of Parga and Sivota and has vast experience of Corfu, particularly its quieter resorts.

Dawn's experience and contacts are invaluable as she spends much time organising completely tailor-made itinearies of the Greek mainland and islands - sometimes on fly-drive holidays and sometimes including guided classical tours. This type of holiday is increasingly popular as many parts of Greece can be too busy for a lot of visitors.

As with Morocco we all frequently visit new and familiar places to ensure we are up-to-date with developments and new properties. Since we began offering quality tailor-made holidays to Greece in the 1990s we have frequently visited Corfu, Samos, Cephalonia, Aegina, Poros, Hydra, Parga, Sivota, Lefkas, Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, Athens, the sights of the mainland (e.g. Delphi, Dodoni, Meteora, etc.), Crete, the Cyclades and the Peloponnese.

About us - who are Rediscover the World?

Rediscover the World's holidays are primarily tailor-made arrangements for the discerning, independent traveller; one who wishes to take advantage of our personal knowledge, wealth of experience and excellent rates for flights, hotels, villas, car hire, local guides and tours. Subject to certain minimum reservation criteria we can book as much or as little as you require.

The directors of Rediscover the World, Andy & Dawn Scase, have worked or travelled extensively in all the destinations we offer and it is this knowledge and attention to detail that sets us apart. Between them they have over 40 years experience in the travel and tourism industry, furthermore all staff at Rediscover the World have extensive travel experience and knowledge. The company began trading in 1997 under the stewardship of Andy and when Dawn and her wealth of experience came on board in 1999 we soon became Rediscover the World Ltd. To maintain our up-to-date programme all of us here at Rediscover visit our featured destinations on a regular basis.

Before joining Rediscover the World our staff have experienced working in the customer service department of a larger tour operator as well as in a busy reservations department and the Head Office of a Greece holidays specialist. Having experienced all sides of the holiday business we like to treat our customers as individuals, each with a different set of requirements, not as a one of a number. As a small family company you will always speak with someone who knows you.

To facilitate this tailor-made and customer orientated approach we co-operate primarily with local agents whom we have known for many years and who have proved themselves reliable and customer-service led.

For your financial security we are fully bonded with the Travel Trust Assocation (TTA) Membership number T6816 and all tailor-made holidays including flights are fully ATOL bonded either directly by Rediscover (ATOL T7172) or by our IATA ticketing agent (Skylord Travel & Tours Plc. - ATOL 3550).

Morocco

Dawn worked for a whole year in Tangier as well as a winter season as Overseas Manager in Agadir for an independent tour operator and has been connected with this fascinating country in one way or another since 1986. Andy travelled extensively in Morocco during 1990 and managed Marrakech for an independent tour operator in 1996.
Since Rediscover the World began offering a comprehensive tailor-made service we have travelled frequently to Morocco, visiting new properties - particularly the massive expansion of Riads in Marrakech, Essaouira and Fez and, more recently, the fascinating and, as yet, unspoiled deep south (coast and desert).

We travel and take holidays to different parts of the country each time to ensure we are familiar with the various routes, travelling times and facilities at the hotels along the way for all our clients.
For the past decade now we have been offering an incredible variety of trekking holidays to the High Atlas and beyond. In keeping with our philosophy of personal service based on personal experience Andy and a small group of keen hikers have undertaken a number of weeks' trekking both in the Imlil/Toubkal region and also the unique wilderness area of the Tichka Plateau (many of the photographs on our web site are from these trips.) Andy also made it to the summit of Mount Toubkal in 2006).
There have been many new arrivals on the Morocco holidays scene in recent years; however, we are proud to say that very few can offer our vast knowledge and long standing experience of this country. We look forward to passing our enthusiasm and expertise on to you.

Day trips and short breaks to visit Santa Claus in Lapland are very popular now but in 1993 when Dawn first escorted a trip to Lapland they really were a once in a lifetime experience. Dawn has been to Lapland over 40 times now and is happy to discuss the relative merits of the choices available to our customers. We work with the major Lapland specialist operators in the UK (Canterbury, Transun, Magic of Lapland and Esprit) and will always offer a full selection, usually with a small discount included.
In recent years the majority of our other staff members have also escorted trips to Lapland. Dawn also visited some new resorts recently to look at the Winter Activity Breaks on offer with Transun and others.
We are aware what a daunting task choosing a 'once in a lifetime' trip to Lapland may be - especially with so much choice around nowadays - our experience will enable you to receive independent information and suggestions to ensure you get the trip you have always dreamed of.

Libya

Libya has always fascinated us and when we met our current agent we were confident that our tailor-made style of holidays could be translated to the restrictions of visiting this incredible country. On offer in Libya are magnificient ancient sites which are often completely visitor-free (Leptis Magna, Cyrenica, Sabratha) and stunning desert scenery.

In 2007 we visited as a family and toured much of what we offer for holiday itineraries, many of the photos on our web site we taken by us as we experienced the wonder of the ancient, mediaeval, modern and natural Libya. Tailor-made tours with friendly English-speaking guide/escort and private transport from as few as 2 persons.

Madeira

Dawn spent an unexpected winter season in Madeira and instantly fell in love with the island; its variety of scenery and quite unique character and history make it a favourite with us and large numbers of British visitors every year.

We have visited Madeira in recent years to view the excellent new hotels and Quintas which offer a different holiday experience to the larger hotels; Andy has also taken in a selection of Levada walks and many of the Levada photos were taken by Andy.

Croatia

Back in 1990, as the football World Cup gripped everyone, Andy and his friend from college were undertaking the latest section of their cycling tour of Europe by travelling the whole coast of Croatia. Much has changed, of course, since this time but the intense charm and history of the coastal towns and islands has never diminished. Andy brought Croatia to Rediscover the World in 2005 and we have never looked back.

Just like our other destinations, we offer a fabulous choice of individually selected fly-drive itineraries on a tailor-made basis. You can enjoy the Dalmatian coast, the islands and the national parks in one holiday and Rediscover Croatia as Andy has done.
