Kasbah Samra was wonderful - just wish we had a bit more time there! Mohammed who was our guide on the trek was excellent as were the 2 mule guides. We camped all three nights and had some wondeful food prepared for us. The trek up Toubkal was fabulous, after a very stormy night the weather cleared and we had a thick covering of snow on top. This was a wonderful holiday in Morocco and we want to return. In high Atlas  our guide Mohammed Jellah and muleteer, also Mohammed were all we could have wished for; friendly, very informative about the region, about nature, wildlife, the socio economic situation. We ate like royalty-delicious homemade tagines cooked up in challenging circumstances. Because of exceptionally hot weather-maybe 40 C even at 2000 m, we had to adapt the itinerary but this was done with much information and discussion with the guide. We got to visit some fine Berber villages and will return to head over the mountain pass we missed. We have never had a mountain  guide or muleteer before but we realise we could not have had such an interesting and rewarding time without them- they were excellent. " We had a wonderful time in Morocco and would return there for more trekking in the future.
Everything was great--our accommodations, our trekking and day hiking. The trekking team, including drivers, mule men, and our guide Abdul were terrific--thoughtful, careful, and considerate. Abdul was even a good cook. But the camping was very basic in comparison to other trekking trips we have taken. It was okay, but we had expected a tent toilet, cleaner camp sites, and a cook.
